A Ugandan delegation led by Chrispus Kiyonga, Ambassador of Uganda to the PRC, visited Yiwu for inspection and investment promotion to nearly one hundred Yiwu companies. Deputy Mayor Shi Wenzhen received the delegation. Yiwu and Uganda are strongly complementary in the field of economy and trade, and the economic and trading exchanges between both parties showed a relatively rapid growth trend in recent years. In 2017, the volume of exports of Yiwu to Uganda reached over USD 5.8 million, with a year-on-year growth of 211%.
During their stay in Yiwu, the delegation visited Yiwu International Production Materials Market, Yiwu China Imported Commodities City, Yiwu Tourism and Exhibition Management Committee, and Huayu Luggage and Bag to know the social and economic development conditions of Yiwu and expressed their willingness to have interactive communication with Yiwu and jointly promote mutual development in such domains as culture, tourism, commerce & trade, and exhibition.
